Classes

Classes are held each weekday in the Wellness Center and open both to residents and neighborhood seniors. These classes help to expand the intellectual, physical, spiritual and creative capacities of our seniors. In addition to paid instructors, outside volunteers as well as our senior residents and guests teach the classes.

Health
The ability of older persons to live independently depends on their ability to maintain good physical health. Sarah's Circle provides nutrition classes in order to educate seniors about the importance of diet and weight management in controlling serious chronic diseases. Informational classes on illnesses and disease provide vital information and help dispel rumors about chronic illness symptoms and age-related aches and pains.

Creativity
Expanding creative skills is one of the best ways that seniors can continue to expand their mental capacities. Recent creative classes have included jewelry making and watercolor.

Educational
At Sarah's Circle, we believe that the learning process continues through all stages of life. A book club, a current events class and a creative writing class are senior  favorites.

Spirituality
Sarah's Circle holds classes to help our seniors to expand their spiritual capacities. These classes are often not religiously based.
