Meal Program

Sarah’s Circle provides lunch each weekday (except for national holidays) at 12:00 pm.  Senior-friendly meals and nutritional guidance is provided by the DC Department on Aging and in partnership with DC Terrific Inc.
We are now serving an average of 22 hungry seniors each day through our community lunch program. As a congregate feeding site for the DC Department of Aging, Sarah’s Circle offers a hot, nutritious lunch each weekday for our residents as well as for struggling seniors from the surrounding community. Demand continues to rise as disposable income for seniors becomes scarcer, and our meal program now serves breakfast three days per week and a monthly dinner to seniors whose nutritional needs are not met due to limited income and ability to prepare healthy, balanced meals.
Menus are designed to meet the special dietary needs of seniors, including those suffering from diabetes and other illnesses.  Understanding that seniors struggle to obtain well-balanced meals – both due to functional limitations that prevent them from cooking as well as financial restraints – the Sarah’s Circle Meal Program is a safety net for those who struggle to make ends meet.
The meal program offers hot, balanced and nutritious food as well as the opportunity to socialize with other neighborhood seniors in a safe and welcoming environment.  If you are age 55 or older and are in need of assistance in meeting your nutritional needs, please contact our office at 202-332-1400 to learn more about how to get involved.
